Project Purpose

This project was designed to educate, guide and support individuals, collectives and organizations, including community-based groups, government departments and other relevant agencies to improve the risk assessment and management capacity of those involved in youth recreation. The goal was to create a research-based package of resources which encourages and facilitates improved risk management capacity by increasing the effectiveness, efficiency, economy of effort and peace of mind of all individuals involved. The target audience includes key players involved in ensuring the safety of youth outdoor recreation, sports, and travel excursion programs including:

• Board directors
• Program managers
• Service providers
• Program leaders
• Parents/guardians
• Youth participants
