Mike Hanna 

Mike Hanna, B.A. (Rec. Admin.), MA/ABS is the Principal of Synergy Canada Inc. Synergy Canada provides all operational management and partnership building services for YouthSafe Outdoors and related projects.

Mike been the Executive Director of the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association, a municipal recreation director in three communities in Alberta, the Youth Program Director of a YMCA in Winnipeg, a Parks and Recreation staff member in the City of Winnipeg, and a trip leader and wilderness guide. He is an organizational development consultant, with extensive work in facilitating multi-stakeholder processes of provincial and national significance. Mike brings tremendous consensus-building, issue resolution, quality improvement and change management capacities to YouthSafe Outdoors projects.

Together, Glenda and Mike have a wealth of "stories" with which to build rapport with target audience groups. They both come from strong public service backgrounds, and hold professional and personal missions to encourage and support healthful, active outdoor living in their community, province and country. These principal staff also volunteer in local clubs and schools and have active, year-round personal and family involvement in outdoor recreation.
